Viktor: Ionian Fervor – 26

6 Sep

A metallic clang rang out through the air as his attacker’s hammer crashed onto Viktor’s conducting rod. The force of the blow made Viktor skid backwards, and a horrible scraping sound came out from his metal legs. The attacker straightened himself up and smiled. He had chiseled good looks and wavy brown hair that somehow looked freshly done, despite his physical exertions. From the instant he saw him, Viktor knew this man was everything he hated about the human race.

“General Viktor, your reflexes are quite excellent.” The man spoke with an over the top, almost campy, demeanor that set Viktor’s now non-existent teeth on edge. “And who might you be?” Viktor asked, hoping his disdain would manage to be conveyed through his metallic rebreather. “I am General Jayce, commander of the Piltover forces. Consider your reign here, terminated.” He smiled an ingratiating smile and suddenly charged forward at Viktor, swinging his hammer.

Viktor blocked it again and quickly shot a blast out at the general from the laser on his back. Jayce dodged to the side and laughed heartily. Everything this man did was causing Viktor’s blood to boil, and his own anger surprised him. One of the reasons he had opted to become cybernetic was to eliminate these useless emotions, which caused sloppy mistakes in battle.

Just as Viktor was about to attack again, he heard a slight whirring noise coming from the smoking crater behind Jayce. Wondering what it was, he paused for a moment before a sniper bullet came roaring forward and penetrated his chest armor. It struck one of his lungs, and Viktor knew he was in trouble. He immediately lay down a gravity generator and began to run from the fight.

Looking back over his shoulder, he saw Jayce and three others climbing out of the crater get caught in the generator’s field. ‘At least that will slow them for a moment,’ he thought to himself. He hurried forward and saw an army in the distance. Though he could not see that far away, the infared sensors on his optical eyes didn’t sense any heat, so he knew it was his cyborg army coming.

Running towards them, he expended most of his energy getting there. As he reached the commander he said, “An advance force.” He coughed through his rebreather, “Deal with them.” With that, he summoned over medics and told them to do what they needed to repair him. His human remains were becoming more of a bother with each passing day.

The medics ripped open his chest and began to repair the collapsed lung. Another explosion rang out in the distance and Viktor knew his forces had met the group. Though his chest was throbbing with pain, he kept himself focused on ways to deal with General Jayce, and the pain he could inflict on that insufferable man. He even managed a small smile behind his mask when he heard another explosion come from the opposite direction.

Confused, Viktor sat up in the middle of his makeshift operation, collapsing the lung all over. Though he ached with pain, he reached inside his own chest and ripped out the worthless organ. The medics cried out and attempted to get him to sit down, but all the General said was, “Solder the wound for now. I’ll replace it after this battle.” The medics protested and he merely shot one of them with a laser blast, killing him instantly. He turned towards the other. “Do as I command.”

The medic, looking frightened, complied and Viktor lay back down. As soon as this was done, Viktor would take charge again. Malthrir was his.

I think Viktor is pretty awesome. Jayce isn’t too flashy, but he makes for a great character foil. This should be fun. I like writing. Have a good one summoners.

Filler 13: Reader Diana Story

6 Sep

Well this is a treat, and a first! We have a reader submission for a night where I can’t write. (If I’m being honest, I played league all night for the first time in a week, so I kinda let you guys down a bit… but at least I had something ready xD.)

Regular readers and commenters will surely recognize the name Yuri_PT, and this story was written by him and translated to English. Enjoy.

The clock marked 10 minutes until the arrival of midnight. Diana moved surreptitiously between the rocks that composed her Lunar Sanctuary. It was in this place that Diana lived and rested during the frequent Sun peaks of the (for her) arduous Summer months. Finally, she found her bed, which was at the center of a small open area that formed a semi-circle before her nocturnal themed environment.

Exhausted from her first summoning on the League of Legends, she lay down over her mantle of wool. It was a fascinating silver color that reminded her of shimmering moonlight. She prepared herself to contemplate the stars and, more concretely, the celestial body she loved as a mother, the Moon.

It had certainly been an exquisite experience, she now reminisced. Unlike what many seemed to believe, Diana wasn’t in any way affiliated with any of the creatures she stood alongside when she arrived at the Nexus base of her team. In fact, it was quite the contrary. She had gained knowledge of threats to the world of Runeterra and learned of the most intense dangers (such as the abominable Cho’Gath and Kog’Maw, the Prophet of the Void Malzahar or the deceiving LeBlanc). She realized that her objective of purging the land of beings of evil intent would be a lot harder than she thought at first when, a few years earlier, she donned the vests of her precursor in the pursuit of the mystical and arcane path of idolatry of her celestial mother.

Relieving the pressure of her hand on the blade handle, Diana left the weapon ringing on the rocky soil of her shelter. She then vividly remembered the moment that changed the logical course of her life forever. Previously a mere acolyte of the Solari, a Sun-worshipping tribe, Diana discovered through an ancient encrypted manuscript lost on a tome of the vast library of its people the location to an abandoned temple which had been, not so long ago, devoted to the cult of the Moon. Her natural curiosity had always led her to periodically question the domain of the solar body on the culture of the Solari. This same curiosity had become amplified by realizing the reason why her questions were always treated by the venerable ancients of the solar cult as a forbidden theme, a taboo.

Her resolution led her to visit the mentioned temple on one night, and by finding artifacts of combat in the temple referring to the Moon, she sought to present these evidences of an ancestral veneration of the nocturne sky symbol to the elders of her people. Faced with relics of an opposite cult of the Supreme Temple of the Sun, the elders despised Diana, branding her a heretic and seeking her immediate and quick death. Diana, constricted and placed on mere seconds on top of a sacrificial altar, was about to breathe for the last time.

It was then that, incited by the sadness and fury born of the betrayal she suffered at the hands of her own people, she begged for salvation to the Moon. Receiving a colossal infusion of power, Diana released herself from the bonds which deprived her of movement and she slaughtered the elders.

Horrified by her actions, Diana quickly recovered from the mental trauma. She had done what was necessary for her survival. However, she didn’t know the route she should follow from that moment forth. Although she had now a companion in the sky providing her support, the episode that had just occurred made reconciliation with the Solari community impossible; not that she would ever desire such a possibility. She then decided to withdraw and reach a way to commune with the symbol of the Night, taking solace on a valley contiguous to the base of the mountain where the Solari resided.

Returning from her recollections of the past, Diana initiated the ritual of dialogue with the Moon. Midnight soon arrived when she finally went in a state of profound trance, once again embracing the heresy.

Personally, I really enjoyed this! Long time readers will know I’m a huge Leona fan (although she’s taken a backseat to the new love in my League life) and was delighted when they announced Diana. A huge thanks goes out to Yuri_PT, and if anyone else has submissions, I can always use them on filler days!

Yuri has a small blog going that he says might be updated in the near future, so go on and check it out! http://tfoxhound.blogspot.pt/

Have a good one talers and I’ll be back writing tomorrow.

Lee Sin: Ionian Fervor – 25

4 Sep

Stay tuned!

I’m writing currently, so it will be out in a bit.

If I can’t put it out tonight, I will in the morning. (It’s good to be semi-back)

The explosion from the yordle’s bomb rocked the city, and Lee felt the ground tremble above him. He knew now that they had to wait. General Viktor, quickly gaining a reputation as the “Machine Herald”, was sure to underestimate any Ionian resistance. He had taken the territory of Malthrir with little fuss, and Lee Sin was banking on him growing overconfident.

They had arrived in the city a week ago with the full force of Piltover behind them. Caitlyn had gone with Lee to deliver his speech to the board of directors that ran Piltover. The eloquent speech was perfect, striking the leaders using both ethos and pathos. He knew he would have been unable to do it without Caitlyn’s help, and he also knew he wasn’t going to be leaving her again.

Later that day, he met up with Riven and she told him about her meeting with the yordle Ziggs. Apparently it had gone quite well, and although Lee Sin cringed when she told him the price, he agreed that it was good thinking on her feet. It would have to be done, and it would be better than an Ionia governed by Zaun. With that, she told him where to meet Ziggs and left for Demacia.

It had not take long for the Piltover army to get assembled, and Lee Sin was allowed to relax for a few days with the Sheriff of Piltover. The two spent the days catching up, making new memories and the Blind Monk was as happy as he’d been in years.

Two days after the agreement, Lee Sin was approached by a man with a deep, powerful voice. He had introduced himself as Jayce, the newly appointed Piltover general. They discussed what their strategy would be, and Lee Sin was impressed. The man exuded confidence and had a plan set up before Lee could suggest anything. The two shook hands and cemented their attack plan quickly. After the man had left, Lee asked Caitlyn why he’d never heard of him. Caitlyn’s answer was cryptic.

“Jayce seemed to come from nowhere. All I know is that he was once a talented blacksmith, but upon reaching Piltover he enrolled in a competition for showing off manufactured weapons. He came with an amazing hammer that was secretly a pulse rifle.” She paused and Lee could hear how impressed she was. “He blew the competition away with ease and the Piltover high command called on him. After two days, he was appointed the leader of our armed forces. It was quite a shock to the people, but the Board of Directors aren’t exactly stupid. They must have had their reasons… Even if no one knows where he came from.” Lee had found this odd, but declined to comment.

Soon they had found themselves ferrying over towards Ionia and carrying out their plan. A small strike force had assembled at the eastern edge of town, consisting of himself, Caitlyn, Ziggs, and Jayce. Taking a secret underground route into the city, the group prepared. Ziggs had gone topside quickly to set off his bomb and then they had waited. Perfectly at midnight, the bomb went off as planned and the group grew silent and tense.

They did not have to wait long before Lee felt the group’s anticipation around him. He had heard the sound of metal steps approaching, and from their reactions, he knew his comrades were aware. He heard general Jayce say beside him, “Ah, General Viktor. I’ve been waiting for our meeting on the battlefield. Feel free to give up now.” Lee Sin heard a slight intake of breath above him and felt a small shockwave hit the ground.

Jayce had leapt up, and Lee Sin heard a loud clash as metal met metal. He smiled to himself. The War for Ionia had begun in earnest.

In case anyone can’t tell, I’m changing Jayce’s backstory a bit. Obviously I’ve done this before when I see fit, just warning people. This has been set up for a while, (like before Jayce had a released lore, so technically this one isn’t really my bad… cough) so I hope you all enjoy over-the-top foreshadowing :). Personally, I’m ecstatic to be back and I’m glad you all stuck around. Have a good one summoners, and I think I can say I’m back on a daily schedule.

Viktor: Ionian Fervor – 24

3 Sep

The Malthrir province had fallen. He was waiting for the signal from Singed before setting forth for the capital. Viktor smiled inside his metal mask and walked to the door. He was staying in a mansion that had recently been abandoned by the local Ionians. He stepped outside and looked around the city. Though the entire area was occupied by his troops, they were staying deathly silent, an easy trick for androids.

As he stood there, contemplating the next step, an explosion rocked the outskirts of the city. The lights in the city went out immediately, but Viktor could still see perfectly with his new robotic eyes. Even though the explosion had been miles away, Viktor immediately began sprinting towards it. His metal legs clanked against the paved roads as he ran tirelessly through the streets. He stopped only when he reached one of his commanders, running towards him.

“What happened here?” he asked menacingly. The commander bowed his head and got on his knees, saying, “I’m sorry master, but they somehow snuck inside the city. The explosion took out our electricity and I was just coming to get you.” Viktor was angry, but merely instructed his commander to rally the troops.

He began to run again, heading towards the area where the explosion had gone off. When he reached his destination, he was shocked at the size of the wreckage. An entire block lay in ruin, and smoke billowed up from the crater that was left over. A deep, haughty voice came out of the hole and said, “Ah General Viktor. I’ve been waiting for our meeting on the battlefield. Feel free to give up now.”

Viktor was about to reply when a huge man leapt out of the shadows, bringing a huge hammer crashing down in front of him…

It’s all I have time for, but hopefully they can get longer in the next few days :). I should have MY computer back in less than a week, so we’ll start getting full posts then! For now, enjoy the shorties. (Back with a bang maybe?)

Also, I’d really like to thank everyone for the support. I’d rather not go into details, but it’s been a rough week. Seeing your comments really helped, even if I didn’t reply! I’m back though, so even if I can’t post a story, I’ll post something daily again!

Have a good one summoners.

Singed: Ionian Fervor – 23

25 Aug

He watched as the soldiers clashed yet again. The Ionians had dug into the southern province of Navori and weren’t letting it go without a fight. However, Singed knew the province would soon be his. His contact in the Ionian capital had been sent down to bolster the enemy’s defenses in the south. His contact had been slowly going crazy after losing something precious to Singed’s old master Warwick, and had been ripe for the taking when he met them.

Singed had railed against Warwick and his policies, despite still being on excellent terms with the wolf, and it had won over the newly fragile mind of his contact. By all accounts, no one had noticed any strange behavior other than the woman becoming far more introverted than she used to be.

It had been the previous night that the woman managed to slip away into Singed’s tent and tell him that the defenses would fall shortly. Singed had been on the lookout all day when suddenly, the barricade they had built to keep invaders out collapsed of its own accord. Singed had already marshaled his troops and gave a triumphant yell, urging them onwards.

Although the Ionians had all taken to wearing masks, avoiding the effects of the chemical weapons, there was nothing they could do when taken by surprise. It was a bloodbath, and Singed saw General Wukong appear at the head of the lines. His contact was nowhere to be seen, though that didn’t surprise him. If she could manage to stay under cover longer, she may be able to deliver the capital as well.

General Wukong attempted to get his forces under control, but the swiftness of the attack quickly wore down the Ionian’s defenses. The Monkey King roared out “Retreat! Retreat to the rendezvous point.” The bulk of the Ionian forces began to exit the battlefield and Singed called out for his forces to give chase. He smiled. ‘Only two more provinces until I reach the capital,’ he thought.

Yes, the invasion was going swimmingly.

My editor was upset. She thinks it’s a mean teaser. I think you guys are smart enough to figure it out ;).

Lee Sin: Ionian Fervor – 22

24 Aug

Sorry guys, my editor is currently working, so this one will be posted tonight, just in a bit!

The woman from his past invited Lee Sin in and offered him tea. He assented and asked where her parents were. She responded, “They went for a night out. I came to see them myself. So honey, what brings you back here after all this time?” Though her tone was playful and light, Lee Sin knew he had seriously hurt her emotionally, and chose his words carefully. In the end he decided to tell her the full truth.

“Caitlyn, I’m sorry, I didn’t come back to reconnect. Honestly, I was too ashamed of what I did to face you then, and too ashamed that I didn’t face you to come back.” She dropped her smile and her tone became much more formal, her Piltover accent coming out slightly stronger. “Alright. Now we’ve established why you’re not here, but that’s not what I asked.” Lee took a deep breath and carried on, “Ionia is under attack from Zaun. We are losing, and desperately need reinforcements. I know you carry a lot of clout around here, and I was hoping I could convince you to help us.”

The Sheriff of Piltover eyed him thoughtfully but said, “Why haven’t we heard any word of this?” Lee Sin looked slightly surprised and said, “I suppose it’s because Karma didn’t take the invasion seriously at first. She was having an affair with Talon, the new leader of Noxus.” Caitlyn raised her eyebrows and said, “Well this is very serious. I have no doubts that Piltover will lend aid. Our countries form a bit of a protection for each other in these times.”

Lee Sin nodded and said, “Thank you. When can we see the board of directors for Piltover?” Caitlyn looked at the clock on her wall and said, “They’re likely finishing up for the day. I think it would be wise to wait for the morning because we need to prepare what we intend to tell them.” Lee Sin nodded again and said, “Alright then. I suppose I shall let you go for the evening.” He heard Caitlyn stand up and say strongly, “No!” She paused and Lee Sin could sense her embarrassment. “I mean, you don’t have to leave right away. I’d like to catch up if there’s nowhere you need to be.”

Lee Sin smiled and said, “I think I would like that too.” She sat back down and the two conversed for hours. Lee Sin told her of his new companions he had met, and how he had been blinded. Caitlyn’s voice quaked with fury upon hearing about the nine-tailed fox, but Lee Sin told her it had been his own fault. Caitlyn then described to him how she’d become the town’s Sheriff and that the crime-rate had hit an absolute minimum since she’d taken over. Lee Sin was impressed and voiced that he knew she’d do great things.

After a long time Caitlyn’s parents came home. They were delighted to see Lee Sin again, and Lee Sin caught them up all over again. Caitlyn sounded amused when she told her parents that she needed to work with Lee Sin on their speech, and the two excused themselves. Out in the fresh air, Lee Sin said, “So where are we going?” Caitlyn suggested they return to her home and they walked together silently. Lee Sin’s mind was racing, circling between worry for Ionia and elation to be back in Caitlyn’s company.

*************

They reached Caitlyn’s home halfway across town without any problems, and began planning what they wanted to say. Lee Sin had wanted to keep it simple, but Caitlyn had insisted they’d be more impressed with an impassioned plea, and they got to work.

Though it took half the night, the time flew for Lee Sin, and he was glad he had Caitlyn’s input. Suddenly, a small device at her side began to ring furiously and she threw it a dirty look. “I haven’t had any calls in two weeks, and this joker has to pick tonight?” She sighed heavily and paused. Before Lee Sin could react, she pressed her lips against his and kissed him hard. She withdrew just as suddenly and Lee Sin could hear the devilish smile she wore in her voice.

“Now, if you leave again, I’ll find you. I’m a damn good detective, you know.” He heard her footsteps heading towards the door and she called back over her shoulder, “The speech sounds good. Keep rehearsing, and you’re welcome to stay here tonight.” With that, the door closed behind her and Lee Sin sank back in his chair.

A smile spread across his lips and he thought, “Man, am I glad to be back in Piltover.” He put his hands behind his head and focused on remembering his speech.

I think Lee deserved a bit of happiness. Sorry it’s so late today, but at least one got out! Have a good one :).

Irelia: Ionian Fervor – 21

23 Aug

The two stood still, peering around. Irelia couldn’t see anything around her, but pressed her back against Vlad’s, to keep as much of their surroundings in their vision as possible. A projectile flew out from her left and she ducked to avoid it. She felt Vlad do the same and saw an electrified shuriken fly above her. She knew well that the Kinkou did not take kindly to people finding their temple home, and she’d been foolish not to think of them.

Suddenly a green blur came flying out of nowhere and crashed into Vlad with a strong kick. He flew backwards, hitting the ground hard. Irelia turned to try and help him, but suddenly heard a sound behind her. She instinctively ducked and a sword went flying over her head. Turning, she saw a ninja dressed in dark blue standing there. She turned to fight him and her blades danced around her hands, ready to strike.

The ninja, who Irelia knew as Shen, suddenly dove forward after her. Irelia sidestepped and thrust her blades into his side. Before she could make solid contact, his swords seemed to move of their own accord and blocked the stab immediately. Irelia desperately wanted to help Vlad, but knew she didn’t have any option, with Kennen still lurking somewhere unseen. She swung her blades again, but felt a stabbing pain in her side as she tried.

Looking down, she saw a shuriken sticking halfway out of her. She grimaced and focused on the fight again. She saw Kennen off behind Vlad and quickly dashed to him. She stabbed him directly in the side and he let out a small yell before changing his body into a small ball of lightning. He zipped away and Irelia had to refocus again. She saw Shen and Akali going towards Vlad, and he appeared to melt down into a pool of blood. The two ninjas were caught in it, and both appeared to fall slightly into a vortex, their feet getting caught.

Suddenly Vlad was whole again and launched out blood projectiles, hitting both of them. They recoiled slightly upon getting hit and Irelia jumped in towards Akali. She threw her enchanted blades towards her, forcing the ninja in green to dodge left and right. Finally, the third and fourth blades struck her in the leg and the stomach, causing her to double over. Irelia went in for the killing blow when she ran into an energy shield.

It caught her by surprise, and she had the wind knocked out of her slightly. She looked around and saw Shen standing in one spot with his hands pressed together. Suddenly he teleported to Akali’s side, and Irelia realized he had been putting up the shield. At this point, Kennen came running back out and the three ninjas stood side by side. Vlad walked up to Irelia’s side, and the two prepared again for a fight.

The woman in the middle, Akali, stepped forward and said, “You fight well. Hesitation is the seed of defeat, and you showed none.” Irelia eyed her warily and Vladimir said, “Why have you attacked us?” Shen answered from behind, “You are inside our ancestral temple grounds. We defend it fiercely.” Irelia called out, “We merely stumbled here by accident. Ionia is in an upheaval, and Karma has attempted to let us fall to the Zaunite invasion.”

Kennen answered, “We know. We’ve seen everything.” Vlad looked confused, so Irelia stepped forward and said, “If you know, why have you done nothing? The balance of Ionia has clearly been upset, and that is your only job!” She grew angrier as she spoke, feeling the pain in her side and letting it fuel her. “Instead, you sit here, guarding your home, and attacking loyal Ionians as they pass? You all should be ashamed of yourself.”

Akali’s head dropped slightly, and Irelia knew she had hit a nerve. “We did try to help. We were ordered back.” Shen spoke, “It was my opinion that if Ionia didn’t want our help, we were not obliged to give it. I always had feeling the Duchess is frightened of us, and is punishing the people for it.” Vlad stepped forward, causing all of them to be rather close to each other. Irelia tensed in case the fighting broke out again, but for now it appeared they wished to speak.

“Why would you abdicate your duties to the people around you, just because of the slight of a leader?” Vlad’s voice was quiet, but carried conviction, and the ninja’s looked slightly ashamed. Kennen spoke up, “We know it was not the correct course, but by the time we realized our mistake, there was no way we could help.”

Irelia walked up to Akali’s face and kneeled, leaving her neck completely open to her. Still facing the ground she said, “Please, ancient guardians of the Kinkou; please come with us and help us repel the invasion.” She sat there for a long moment before she heard rustling in front of her. The three ninjas had all gotten down and kneeled before her.

Shen said, “Irelia, captain of the guard, let us serve you. We wish to help Ionia, and have lost our way.” Stunned, Irelia stood up and looked to Vlad. He wore a bemused expression on his face and she turned back towards the Kinkou. “Please, stand. We would love to have you, and if you can help us win back Ionia from the evil that invades our shores, all will be forgiven.”

The ninjas all assented as one and Irelia smiled. Turns out her intuition hadn’t been so off after all. Vlad muttered under his breath, “Well, like they always say, I’d rather be lucky than good.”

I will be adding the promised picture later. Gotta play some league now xD. Have a good one summoners.

Lol. These are how I pictured Vlad’s chambers swimming with the blood of etc etc. I believe this is from Crimson Elite 9 or so? Anyway, Enjoy. (Aren’t you glad you waited for this?)
